Overall, I was quite impressed with the outcome of our chase sequence. As the cinematographer, in the pre-production stage I helped to design many of the shots and mise-en-scene when constructing our storyboard. I also helped towards contributing ideas for our plot.
Although we had planned our shots, when we got to the location we were filming, we got too excited and perhaps didn't follow the storyboard as much. We shot the scenes and shots from the story board but without a director,…

For this chase sequence, I worked with Melody and Miyu, where I took up the role of the editor. During the pre-production stages, we discussed ideas for locations, casts, and the concept of the whole chase sequence, as well as doing the storyboard.
Out of the three days we filmed, I was only able to help out on the last day, as my AYP expedition clashed with the…

My Role in Our Chase Sequence
My role in our team in creating the chase sequence was the script writer. For the post production of making this short sequence i began to focus on the script that kasja has written as opposed to forming my own personal idea i worked around hers,we developed the script so that only some aspect of the story where still involved. Because the sequence needed to be specific to the conventional chase sequence we cut down dialogue and irrelevant parts of the script. I then had to work out where would be the most suitable areas to film different shots, because the film…

For this Chase Sequence project, i worked in a group of 3 with Christopher and Matthew (from ms curran's class). I was the cinematographer.
During the preproduction stage, all three of us met up for quite a few times to brain storms ideas and decide on the details. All three of us contributed to coming up with the story of the sequence. As the cinematographer I planned most of the shots after we came up with the rough idea, e.g. the angles they were going to be shot in, how…

As part of the post-screening discussions relating to Race to Nowhere, I'd like to pose a few questions for you to consider.
Firstly, as a documentary...what did you think about the validity of the claims made? Is it possible to correlate the experiences described with your own in Hong Kong?
This is the final text studied as part of the course studying realism. Think back through the texts studied, which encompass The French New Wave, Italian Neorealism, Dogme 95 etc.…
